Is Full Body Tracking Coming to the Oculus Quest?

In today’s oculus quest news body tracking may be coming to the quest, You can now play classic Call of Duty and Halo maps on the quest 2, Trying out PCVR from the cloud for free with Plutosphere, Sidequest is fixing all kinds of version 37 update problems and our random game of the week Sledge Destruction Simulator.

Inside the recent Quest SDK released for Physically tracking a Keyboard inside the unity game engine a keen eyed reporter over at uploadvr saw an entry under features that says body tracking support disabled. So could this mean that meta has future plans of releasing the ability of full body tracking to the quest? I hope so but with the camera inside the quest they just aren’t wide enough to do this on their own so maybe we will see some new meta tracking accessories like the vive trackers in the future or some type of third party integration.

Then again this could all be a grand experiment or for that mysterious project cambria headset we are all clamoring for.

Quest FPS gaming just got a whole lot better. Military shooter ContractorsVR just release an update allowing modded maps for the quest and of course some talented modders have uploaded classic halo maps like zanzibar, hang em high and the pit not to be outdone by some now classic call of duty maps like shipment, shoot house and the dastardly rust. There was some initial drama where the halo maps were taken down within a few days of their release but some beautiful soul has replenished them back to their glory. If you own contractors and want to check out these mods just head over to the mods section in the main menu then sift through the selection. Sort by subscribers to find the most popular mods click on one tickles your fancy and on the right hand side click subscribe. Once downloaded you can try it out by going to single player and then free roam if you just want to take in the experience of walking around a map that you spent most of your high school life drinking mountain dew and getting sweaty in your friends basement. I don’t miss lugging around a crt tv.

Your friend sideloader and firmware booster Sidequest just released update 10.27 which have enabled some fixes for recent problems that have shown up with the quest version 37 update. Some highlighted fixes include apps being stuck on installing or uninstalling, the super odd Date Changed to 2036/2037 broken wifi problem, and cloud back up triggering for those times when you really do need to factory reset your headset and you want to make sure you have a backup of all your game data. If you are experiencing any of these problems check out the link in the description to learn how to use Side quest to fix them.

And now its time for my rando quest game of the week. Speaking of sidequest here’s a fun game you can download from there to scratch your destructive itch called sledge destruction simulator. This physics based VR game allows you to destroy a large variety of objects such as toilets, tables, statues and more. So go take out your frustrations on some poor dudes bathroom. Link of course is down below.

Are you like me and don’t have a PC or a PC strong enough to play half life alyx but you bought it anyway because you had a dream for the future? Well Desktop streaming service plutosphere is here to make that dream come true. The opened up their platform for what seemed to be a stress test over the weekend, and well for some it has been a great experience and for others like me…I could never connect to the remote computer. Like 10 attempts and nothing.  It’s all still technically in testing so of course we can expect hiccups but if you want to try it out for yourself the link is below to follow the instructions to set it up. Heads up you will need a steam account and of course some steamvr games and annoyingly you will have to download those games every time you connect to the service. If you are one of the lucky ones to get it to work let me know in the comments and hopefully the problems get ironed out for the formal release.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who recently subscribed and have been supporting my channel, you all are amazing and keep me motivated in life! If you want to learn more tips and tricks for the quest 2 check out this video here and I’ll see you in the next one.
