Embrace the 40.

In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.” The Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness. And he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. And he was with the wild animals, and the angels were ministering to him. (Mark 1:9-13 ESV)

Notice that when God confirmed His son to change the world in the baptism immediately Jesus was led into a 40 day trial where He was tempted but did not error and ministered to by the angels. As Gods children when we are called or confirmed we will see the same things in our lives and we have to look to the Lord in the times of temptation, pray continuously to know Him and read His word to learn from Him and others He has chosen.
Right after this Jesus goes on a healing streak, casting out demons and speaking with authority to the world. He embraced the 40 days spent in the wilderness and so should we so that we can come out with strength of God to change the world through Jesus in us.
