Matthew 21v21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
If we don’t believe God can do what we can’t, that he will satisfy our deepest desires which glorify Him then we are missing out on the power and privilege of prayer. Our prayers would then be without conviction and therefore rendered useless. We can not pray to God then sit back and expect next to nothing living with the, “Well maybe if it is according to His will” attitude. That is not true faith, that is fear. We know deep in our spirit through study of the word, when what we are asking God for is of His glory. If it is not then our motives need to be scrutinized and reevaluated. But if it is, live in faith! Walk on the waters with confidence toward that which you are seeking from God. He will keep you afloat and lead you right to where you want to be.
