How To Install Bonelab Mods on Meta Quest 2

How to install Bonelab mods on quest.

Alright let's head over to your pc or mac and first visit  https://mod.io/g/bonelab to find some mods.

On the left hand side click android to filter through only quest mods but of course if you want to do this on pcvr you can click windows.

Also on the left side you will see the types of mods to filter through click your mod type of choice such as avatars.

Now that we see all the quest avatar mods, let’s sort by most popular to see what people are downloading.

Ah yes the titanfall 2 pack is hot right now, but hey let’s go with deadpool because who doesn’t like Ryan Reynolds?

Click that mod preview link and on the mod page scroll down on the right side under live files and click the version for android and then download the zip file.

Double click that zip to open up the extracted file folder on your computer.

Now go ahead and connect your headset to your computer, and make sure in the headset to choose to allow the computer to access your headset.

If you are on PC you’ll find your quest 2 in your file explorer but if you are on mac you’ll need to download android file transfer and install it to access your headsets file structure.

On PC find your headset in file explorer as a device, click on it then double click shared storage then go to the android folder then data, then find the folder com.stresslevelzero.bonelab dive inside that folder and then open files and then Mods. Now you can drag the unzipped mod folder into the Bonelab mods folder and you’re done.

For Mac the process is nearly the same, just connect your headset and open then open android file transfer (it should open automatically) and follow the same file path as before: android then data, then com.stresslevelzero.bonelab then to files and then Mods. Drag and drop your mod folder in there and you're good to go.

Now you can disconnect your headset hop back into bonelab and access your mod / avatar inside the game.

Happy modlife!

Bonelab Quest 2 Reveal and Price

The highly anticipated follow up to Boneworks is coming to VR headsets this week. Which is just absolutely beautiful news. And today we finally got to see footage of the quest 2 version captured in headset. Bonelab creator Brandon Laatsch also shared that it runs on the quest 2 natively at 90hz without using asynchronous space warp. Of course the quest version isn’t going to meet the graphic fidelity of a speced out computer with a dedicated graphics card but in my opinion I think it looks pretty dang good and having the physics work the same as the PC version is incredible. The price of $40 was also announced and that it will be cross buy for those of you that use the oculus store on your PC as well as standalone. There are those on the internet that were hoping Bonelab would be free but when you have to pay a team to create a game like this and then giving it away in hopes of using microtransactions to pay it all back just feels wrong but maybe thats just me. Oh and by the way Brandon confirmed there will be no micro transactions.

From what has been posted in previews the game seems to be leaning into a newer mechanic that hasn’t really been used in VR games all that much, or at all. Where changing your avatars body type actually changes the physics in the game and how you can defeat enemies or work through puzzling areas. Kinda like mario’s hat in odyssey. This is a really intriguing mechanic that I’m really excited to explore especially in virtual reality where I can imagine what its like to have a different uhhh body type…yeah. along with the ability for Mods to change and create your own avatar types inside the game that now will be more than just skins but will affect the actual gameplay physics. From what I’ve gathered avatar attributes are pulled from the silhouettes of the avatar. So naturally if you have a massive upper body your strength attributes will be higher so you can throw people around like beanie babies, while being a smaller avatar you can move around with agility and speed, you know like say uhh an anime girl if you will. I do wonder how modding will be handled with that and if an ultimate maxed out character can be created. I guess we shall see but thankfully mods will also be supported for the quest 2 standalone audience as well.

And by the way vehicles will be in the game and choosing between playing while seated or standing will now be a seamless experience. No more choosing an option in a menu if you want to sit the game recognizes your position and adapts.

All in all the bonelab sandbox looks incredible and I can’t wait to see the story mode of the game but also what the community cooks up with mods especially now that so many more people will have access to this game unlike boneworks which was PC only. Do you plan on picking up bonelab? And where do you plan on playing it. Let me know in the comments and thanks for watching I’ll catch you in the next quickie.
