Senior Director of Display Systems Research at Meta's Reality Labs Dr. Doug Lanman recently shared an updated VR headset concept that his team are able to actually build right now that can pass the visual turing test.
To make this as easy as possible before signing into Roblox on your meta quest 2 go ahead and create an account or sign into your account on roblox.com either on the mobile app or in a browser.
Now back inside your Quest 2 head set head to the lower quest task bar and hit the search icon, then go up to the search bar type in Roblox. Side note: you can also save the game to your headset with the link on app lab to the beta.
On your quest from here, you'll see Roblox show up there on the left under app lab. Click the icon with your quest 2 controller trigger then click view in store. Once this loads click download.
By the way the beta file size is 189mb
Once it's installed, click start, you'll see the Roblox logo come up and then you'll see a log in screen pop up after that.
Awkwardly use your head to maneuver the green dot over log in with another device and click trigger on that box and then you'll get your character code to enter in on the roblox website.
Now take your headset off, and head over to your computer or mobile device go up to the settings in the right hand corner, then click quick log in and type in the character that you got from your headset.
Click the enter button and then confirm log in and boom now you're in!
Head back over to your quest 2 headset and you'll see a familiar home screen pop up and choose whatever experience or game you want to check out and click play.
I will say this is a little janky up front, but I'm sure they're working on it and again, it's a beta test but hey its roblox vr on your quest 2!

The Meta quest Pro is dead. Or at least that is what has been reported by tech insider magazine the information. According to them meta let its suppliers know earlier this year that they will not be ordering new components for the quest pro. And consequentially manufacturer goertek will be left only building quest pro headsets with the remaining materials they have left.
This means the quest pro will be discontinued and probably become a one off tech product you’ll see in a museum 30 years from now. To go along with this it is reported that meta also has stopped developing for the second gen quest pro. Meta wants to concentrate more on consumer headsets like the recently announced quest 3.
If I had to guess I would bet the meta pro didn’t sell very well at all, so they dropped the price from 1500 to a thousand in just 3 months on the market and that still probably didn’t create a good enough demand for it and then Apple comes out with its pro higher end Vision Pro that melts the quest pro into a puddle of plastic. Which makes me believe knowing all of this Meta decided to move up their time table for the quest 3 announcement and quietly begin shunning the ole quest pro.
Just looking at the numbers you see the quest 3 will have a higher resolution than the pro, the same pancake lenses as the pro, two rgb cameras instead of one and the depth sensor which we never saw come to fruition with the pro.
The quest pro was a good experiment and definitely pushed vr forward in some ways but the quest 3 definitely has my eye for the future. Did you pick up a quest pro? Let me know in the comments and how do you feel knowing its discontinued?
The break in vr is coming to the quest 2 later this year so I figured I would try it out. Here's my first time playing and trying to break in to a casino.

Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth confirms the battery life for the upcoming Quest 3, if you should buy a Quest Pro or the new Quest 3 and is threads coming to vr?
Meta’s CTO Andrew Bosworth took to instagram to answer the question we’ve all been wondering in why they are shutting down Echo VR in august. He even addresses what former Oculus CTO John Carmack would do in this situation.
